5 ways to pamper yourself today

Treating myself has always been a favourite pastime of mine. I promised myself a nice coffee with full-fat milk from The Mill at this great San Francisco studio called Salt if I worked out five days in a row only last week. I did it despite being really sore, and I thoroughly enjoyed the $4 coffee in a hip atmosphere that followed. While it’s wonderful when your friends, family, and significant others surprise you with something special on your birthday, what about the other 364 days of the year? It is far too short a life to not take care of oneself. After all, you work hard, so why not reward yourself for all of your small, everyday achievements with a treat now and then? Whether or whether you’ve met a long-term goal that you have been working toward or simply had the most productive day ever and crossed off everything on your to-do list, you’re worth it and you deserve it. Here are 34 ideas for pampering yourself.

Beauty

  1. Enjoy a massage.
  2. Get a manicure and pedicure.
  3. Indulge in a facial.
  4. Book a night at a fancy hotel. Take a bubble bath, order room service, and watch a movie.
  5. Get a blowout.

Food

  1. Go to the local oyster bar during $1-oyster happy hour. Order a dozen oysters on the half shell and a glass of Champagne.
  2. Go to the local ice cream parlor and indulge in an ice cream cone or sundae.
  3. Go to your favorite restaurant and enjoy a meal all by yourself. Get the wine pairings if they have them.
  4. Order a pizza, open a bottle of red wine from your cellar, and binge-watch that trashy TV show you’ve been thinking about starting.
  5. Make your favorite dish (pasta, steak, roast chicken, macaroni and cheese) for dinner.
