Pakistan to improve ties with Moscow

Prime Minister Imran Khan is going to visit Moscow as the Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited him. This can drastically change the international order and exacerbate global tensions.

Russia invasion of Ukraine can possibly lead to a very challenging and tensed situation especially for our foreign ministries. Pakistan’s every move is being watched and it’s rather a more delicate situation than ever given its current support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Pakistan gets its basic funding and loans from US (mainly) and the entire world knows about the relationship Russia and US has this was only lead to a more complicated situation. Imran Khan’s visit to Russia is a sign of fast-changing geopolitics.

One cant ignore the fact that relations of Russia and Pakistan have significantly improved & this bilateral relationship is somewhat healthy but also of a great concern.

Where this bilateral relationship is important and will lead to growth in trade and security, one should notice that it would strain relations with US. Already Pakistan was in hot waters by having good relations with China and after Russia, there are higher chances that the relations with US will deteriorate.
