In the past Mohammad Asif alleged former Test cricketer Waqar Younis of tempering the ball for bowling reverse swing.
“He [Waqar] used to cheat with the ball to do reverse swing. He didn’t know how to ball with the new ball in most of his career. He learned a bit about bowling a new ball in the twilight phase of his career,”
Waqar Younis was a right-arm fast bowler who is widely recognized as one of the finest fast bowlers in cricket history.
Waqar Younis was accused of cheating with ball while doing reverse swing, to which he responded during a recent interview:
“everything is fair in love and war, so once in a while, it is okay to prepare the ball as it requires specific work, also reverse swing is Pakistan’s invention which required a technique, Sarfaraz Nawaz, Imran Khan, Waseem Akram all seniors had a technique of preparing the ball, so it’s okay”
