Digital marketing and its cons

There was a time when artificial intelligence and data-driven marketing were alien concepts. Only a few businesses specifically were applying these concepts. The rest of the world called them fools as who would have thought that AI would take over businesses. However, now the narrative has changed.

Today, these innovative digital marketing trends are among the top priorities for most business owners in 2021 and why wouldn’t they be? After all, if your business intends to remain competitive in today’s online landscape, you must adapt to the rapidly evolving changes in digital marketing.

Social media, mobile, wearables, Internet of Things, real-time — these are just some of the technologies that are disrupting markets. Changes in how people communicate, connect, and discover are carrying incredible implications for businesses and just about anything where people are involved. We live in a time when technology marketing moves fast and consumer interests and behaviours are hard to predict. Marketers can no longer stick their heads in the sand and hope that educated guesses and the same old methods will work forever.

Either business can react to this or adapt and cope with the wave of digitalization. If consumer behaviour is evolving as a result of technology, businesses either compete to get ahead of it, they perpetually react to it, or they belittle it.  One of the most problematic aspects around digital maturity is that technology is both parts of the solution and also part of the problem. Digital transformation is one of the most important movements facing businesses today. It is forcing businesses to look beyond the world as they know it, in fact, digital transformation in its own way is making the consumer experience more human. It also represents an effort to make businesses run that introduces new models for business and, equally, creates a way of staying in business as customers become increasingly digital.
