Famous Indian politician and former cricket player Navjot Shinsidu arrived in Pakistan today (Saturday) via the Kartalpur Corridor to commemorate the birth of Sikh founder Grunanak. On behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Chief Executive Officer of the Cartalpur Corridor Project Management Unit welcomed Navjot Singh Sidhu, who arrived in Pakistan.
On this occasion, Sidhu thanked the Prime Minister for his warm welcome. A tweet shared by Indian Express shows Sidhu entering Pakistan via the Kartarpur Corridor. “He (Prime Minister Imran Khan) is my brother,” said a former Indian cricket politician. He later visited Gurdwara Durbar Sahib to perform religious ceremonies. Prior on November 18, prominent Indian politicians, including the Prime Minister of India in Punjab, visited Gludwara Kartalpur Sahib the day before Gulplab, the birthday of Sikh founder Baba Grunanak. The Cartarpool Corridor connecting Gurdwara Dalbar Sahib, Pakistan’s last resting place for Sikh founder Guru Nanak Dev and the Dela Baba Nanak Shrine in the Guru Daspur district reopened on Wednesday. A pandemic of COVID19 interrupted the pilgrimage to Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in March 2020. India’s Punjab CM Charangit Sinchanni and his minister were part of the first delegation that Gourdwaradalbar Sahib visited in Kartalpur.
Saldar Amer Singh, Chairman of the Pakistan Seek Gurdwara Prabandak Commission (PSGPC), greeted and welcomed them on their arrival.
